David Bryan is a Grammy® Award-winning keyboard player, songwriter, and founding member of Bon Jovi. He is also a Tony Award-winning composer, lyricist, and orchestrator. Over the past 42 years, Bon Jovi has sold more than 150 million records and toured the world, playing to millions of people.

He won three 2010 Tony Awards for Best Score/Lyrics, Best Orchestrations, and Best Musical, for the hit Broadway musical Memphis, as well as a Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical.

He and Joe DiPietro have also co-written the award-winning musical The Toxic Avenger and won the Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Off-Broadway Musical.

David has produced Memphis: The Musical cast albums with the original Broadway cast and also The London West End cast.

He also produced The Toxic Avenger cast album.

David and Joe co-wrote DIANA the Musical and debuted on Broadway in 2020. They filmed the musical, which continues to play on Netflix.

Born in Edison, New Jersey, David Bryan began taking piano lessons at the age of seven. He continued this classical study with Emery Hack for thirteen years. He enrolled at Rutgers University, where he continued his musical education (and pre-med studies), preparing him for an audition at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music. When the phone rang with Jon Bon Jovi on the other end saying, “The record company just called. We have a record deal.” The choice was made and the rest is history…

David is a National Spokesperson for VH1’s Save The Music Program. Mrs. Dena Hammerstein appointed David as an Honorary Board Member of Only Make Believe, a program dedicated to the principle that freeing a child’s creative spirit is a valuable part of the healing process.
