The New Jersey Hall of Fame was thrilled with the great response to its annual essay contest. Several hundred well-constructed essays arrived and selecting a winner was difficult for the panel of judges. Entries were divided into two age categories: Intermediate (grades 4 through 8) and High School (grades 9-12). Each winning student gets an NJHOF Mobile Museum visit for his or her school.
The Intermediate winner is Kyra Fischer, a fourth grader at Parkway Elementary in Mt. Laurel. She wrote about Meghan Vizzard, a 14-year old who started Cozies4Chemo, an organization which makes blankets for cancer patients.
The High School winner is Scott Berger, a junior at Pascack Hills High School, who write about his Biology teacher Dr. Martin Edelberg.
